I found the war museum extremely interesting. What shocked
me the most was the difference in technology and style of military uniforms between
different countries. I didn’t think it would be so extreme. I also liked how
the museum was originally a villa and it had a Turkish bath inside it. You
would never expect it. Seeing the images that were taken of the war and
learning about how greatly they affected the people of Crete really emphasized
the need for war cemeteries. They are a constant reminder of all of the young
lives lost and the destruction created by war. Seeing both the German and
Allied Cemeteries completed the image of devastation.
