Today was one of my favorites so far on Crete. While waking up this morning was tough, it was nice to see the island before it was crowded and hot. Beyond that the hike was absolutely stunning. It was unlike anything I've ever done. I loved the bottom of the gorge and the stream with the best water I have ever tasted. Once we finished we rewarded our selves with some ice cream and beach time. Despite what some others in the group said, I thought the black sand beach was perfect. The water was cool and clear and the sand was unique and beautiful. Could have spent all day there, but I'm grateful for the time we got.
