Samaria Gorge

Our Hike across the Samaria Gorge today was extraordinary.  We started our trek down around 8:00 am and made it to the old village around 1:00.  The scenery was beautiful because we were surrounded by enormous cliffs throughout the entire walk.  My favorite part of the hike was hopping from rock to rock aver a small river at the base of the gorge. It felt great submerging my entire head into the frigid water.  Once we finished the 15 kilometer hike, we visited a black sand beach.  Sounds cool huh? Well minus the lava sand, it was a nice refreshment after a long walk.
