On Wednesday, we visited two military instillation in Souda Bay.  The first one we visited was the US Navy base.  I found it quite interesting hearing the perspective of a military officer that is on the front line in a sense and experiences situations first hand.  Most of the Politics and International relations we as students are exposed to are from the perspective of the policy makers.  Speaking to the executive officer of naval support at a Souda Bay military installation connected the situations we are exposed to in a classroom setting to real life issues that must be dealt with.

Just after our visit at the US base, we visited the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Center (NMIOTC). They were much more hospitable than the US Navy base.  Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a variety of officers with coffee and snacks.  The presentation that was prepared for us was an extremely thought out power point that touched every area that the training facility had to offer.
